Dollar Tree Fireplace Makeover

Woah what a crazy couple of weeks. I'm not going to go into too much detail in this post because I'm taking some time I don't really have to pop on here and show you a super easy wall treatment that I learned from a friend of mine. Also, you won't believe where I got it from...

I met a sweet girl on Instagram (that's weird to say) and her name is Brittany @OurFortKnox . She is probably one of the most creative person I know. She takes the most normal things and turns them into something totally amazing for her home. She shared that she put up this contact paper in her hallway and I loved it so much, I rushed out and picked up 20 rolls!! This paper is from none other than...... THE DOLLAR TREE! GASP!!! I first put it up here behind our fireplace in our bedroom to see how I liked it and I loved it so much, I did my entire laundry room in it.... Overboard??? Nah.

Along with this fireplace makeover, I painted the fireplace white. You can see what it looked like when we bought the house and after I white washed it HERE. After I got the paper up because it's so white, I had to paint the fireplace. The paper just made the white washed bricks look pink, so I got to painting and I love it even more now. If you're new here, you'll learn that this room used to be our living room... I got a wild hair one day and switched my whole house around and haven't looked back since. You can read all about that craziness HERE

I wanted the mantle to be simple because I wanted the paper to steal the show but it definitely needed something. I put up these old windows and some candle sticks. I put a picture up on Instagram HERE and had a friend suggested I put some black and white pictures in some of the panes. I printed some off of the internet and stuck them on with some washi tape. I love it even more after that simple change. I love when people suggest things to me to try out. I always say my home is my playground and I'm willing to try anything.

This paper is already sticky so there is no mess and you can easily peel it off if you don't want it anymore. I think I'll keep this up forever though. I just love looking at it.

Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I'm up to. I apologize for being MIA for so long. I'll explain all the drama in another post soon. It's been a messy few weeks! I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week!
