A New Addition to the Master Bedroom

Hi, friends! Welcome back! I'm hopping on here quick today to give you a little sneak peek into our master bedroom. I have been very SLOWLY working on it. I did a big makeover on it not long ago and quickly fell out of love, I know, the dramaaaaa... I tend to get an idea in my head and just decide to execute it right then and there and it doesn't turn out the exact way I want because I didn't take my time in choosing every item carefully...

As I've been somewhat "purging" my house of clutter I've decided to really think about every item I keep. Don't get me wrong, I still have my fair share of junk... But I'm wanting to mostly have things in my home that make me happy. This cabinet is definitely one of those! My grandparents gave it to me when they moved here from Ohio and it's one of my absolute favorite things and NO I will NEVER PAINT IT. I've tried to imagine it white, or a fun pretty color but the wood tone is just so beautiful, I couldn't ever bring myself to touch her.  It's served lots of purposes in this little house of ours but this is by far my favorite use for it yet. We recently moved it into our master bedroom and it now serves as storage for our bedding. All of our bedding is older and we only really use quilts except in the winter and they're all so pretty so I wanted them on display. If you've read for a while, you know we have very little closet space and all of my quilts were just piled up in my "Monica Geller Closet" LOL only being looked at when I would switch out the bedding. Now they're on display for all to see. Also our laundry room is right next to/attached to our bedroom so it's easy access to put them away instead of piling them up on the floor in my bedroom instead of risking getting trapped in the Monica closet if-ya-know-whatt-I-mean ;)

Had all the windows open today. This is what I live for.... Windows open and little lace curtains blowing in the breeze.... Ahhhhhh.... anyway.

It seriously transformed this room. I now that sounds dramatic but it really did. As time went on and I started taking things out, other less appealing items got gathered in this corner such as an exercise bike, a lamp I never used and some boxes full of stuff I need to get rid of. Now it's clean and open and pretty. I'm still playing with the styling of it but I couldn't wait to show you! I'll show some more when I get it perfectly styled but for now, here she is in all her glory.

And as always, little red helping a sister out in his pj's :)

I hope you enjoyed this sneak into our bedroom and the new addition we added. I'm thrilled with it and it gives me so much inspiration to keep working on the rest of the room. But I'm not getting ahead of myself because I want to REALLY LOVE my bedroom. After all, it's supposed to be my sanctuary, right? Have a fantastic week, sweet friends and as always, thank you so much for stopping by to see what I'm up to!

Come be my friend!!
