Happy Almost New Year!!! Favorite Photos from 2018 on Facebook and Instagram

Hey, friends!!!! Happy almost 2019!! I can't believe another year has passed. It seems like I was just at my neighbors house, 7 months pregnant with number 2 eating "good luck soup". This year has been an interesting one to say the least. A new baby, new adventures, new friends, losing friends, lots of loss but also lots of love. It started out rough but there has been so much growth...

Winter Decor Inspiration

Hi friends!! I so so so hope your Christmas was amazing. Ours was just perfect. Spent time with family, friends enjoying good food and company. The boys played and got to see all of their cousins and friends. It was simple and just what I needed after a chaotic month. I wanted to get on today and share some winter decor inspiration with you! I personally did not leave any winter decor up. After this last month, I just had to get all of the Christmas out so I can focus on the upcoming seasons. It just kind of seals the season off when I get all of it out and start fresh! So here is some inspiration for your Thursday after you get your Christmas decor down...

Christmas Master Bedroom Tour

Christmas Master BedroomHey friends!! This month is such a whirlwind for my family and I... We have lots going on. It started out with my home being on the local Holiday Homes Tour, next weekend we have my son's 4th Birthday Party, after that is my work's big Christmas event and last is Christmas... So much to do in one month and that doesn't include the everyday life stuff, and opening a shop!!! Terrible timing on my part but the chaos is kind of what I live for. I get my down time... In the bathroom... hiding from everyone. Anyway, I wanted to pop on tonight and share pics of my bedroom styled for Christmas! I went a little non traditional, but that's kinda my style...

Mini Tree and Vintage Bottle Display in the Laundry Room

mini christmas tree decorHello! It's Monday, some people hate Mondays, I personally love them now days because I can stay home with my kiddos and start a new week. We use our Monday's to get ready for school (my son only goes two days a week) clean the house, stay home and relax before the work week. I always try to take some time to myself to decorate a little, especially with the holidays around the corner. I did this little tree display a while ago but I thought I'd share it today with you because I love it and it gives my laundry room that little Christmas kick that it needs. Let's go see the mini tree display!...

DIY Countertops with Contact Paper- Full Tutorial

Contact paper for diy marble countertopsHey, loves! I finally got back to my DIY loving lifestyle recently. I was at the Walmart, buying 54654623 things I didn't need and I came across this $5 contact paper. I had seen people using it on counter tops and I wanted to do it because, let's face it, actual marble counter tops are insanely pricey and we're for sure not ready to go gutting our kitchen anytime soon. My dingy fake wood, laminate counter tops had started to make me twitch a little because they had stains, burn marks, scratches, etc on them and I wanted a fresh new look. I decided to just try it out and I'm SO glad I did. I have lots of tips for you so if you're thinking about doing this fun project, read this first!...

A New Collection

vintage lanternsHello, friends! I hope you're having a good week. We're on the down hill slope to the weekend!!! It's snowing today here in Missouri and I don't know how I feel about it. I love me some snow but I have a feeling it's going to be a long cold winter. I feel like we just came out of winter! Summer for sure didn't last long here in old MO. Anyway, today I wanted to share a new collection I am now obsessed with thanks to my Mother-in-law...

Boy's Closet Makeover and a Peek at their Room

Hi, friends! I've been having some technical difficulties over here.... my phone has "no more storage" and it's shattered and turning off, wont take pictures, won't send emails, wont get text messages... one would think it's time for a new phone but I REALLY don't want to pay for another one! Phones are such a pain but in this lifetime we HAVE to have one. Very annoying. Anyway, I've been trying to get this post up for a few days now and I finally made it work. You'll notice the saying on the wall is very "Halloween-ish" but that's because I took these pictures before Halloween! LOL...

A New Addition to the Master Bedroom

Hi, friends! Welcome back! I'm hopping on here quick today to give you a little sneak peek into our master bedroom. I have been very SLOWLY working on it. I did a big makeover on it not long ago and quickly fell out of love, I know, the dramaaaaa... I tend to get an idea in my head and just decide to execute it right then and there and it doesn't turn out the exact way I want because I didn't take my time in choosing every item carefully...

Faux shiplap
Hello, friends! Happy beginning of the week! I'm super excited about this post because it's sooooo not something I thought I would ever do! I know. Dramatic. Eclectic Vintage Bathroom

Soooo... I'm a loser and totally realized that I NEVER showed our bathroom reno when it was all complete! WHAT THE... We re painted for like the 5th time, updated the faucet and completely redid the floor. I recently gave it yet another "refresh" by switching out the rug for my vintage runner I had in the kitchen. I love shopping my house when I'm feeling bored with my decor. Just trading out a rug can make the room look totally different! Let's go see what my bathroom looks like today...

Vintage Desk in the Living Room and Preschool Pictures

Hi Friends! Happy Monday... I actually don't mind Monday's anymore now that I have some extra time in the week at home. I used to feel so overwhelmed on the weekends trying to get stuff done before the new week when I worked full time but now I don't stress because I have two extra days to get those things done and blog more! So happy about that. Life has changed so much lately. Once kids get into sports and school it seems like all we do is run around ALL THE TIME TO EVERY PLACE EVER! I feel like a zombie. Props to all you parents out there!...

Old Lockers in the Kitchen - Our New Pantry

Lockers used as home decor This post has been a long time coming! I got these lockers a few months ago but never got around to posting about them. I did share a picture on my INSTAGRAM and FACEBOOK but wanted to share where I got them and how I decided on turning it into a pantry! I love this little corner even more now with these old green lockers. I've been trying to add in some color in my home and this muted green is definitely one of my faves...

10 Very Common Household Items I Live Without

Hi all! This post is kind of a fun one for me because I've wanted to do it for a while. I sometimes wonder if because I don't see the need or purchase certain things at the store, if I'm normal? haha sounds silly. But there are a few very common things that people can't live without that I just haven't ever felt the need for. I'd love to know if you feel the same way! Somethings just aren't necessary! And as I'm going through this wanting-to-purge-all-the-things-and-live-simpler phase, I'm wanting to cut out some other things in my home that I pay for often that I think I can live without... I'll mention those at the end. SO, let's get into it!

Our Current House

Our Current House

Me and my two little boys moved into this house in 2019 and have been having the best time turning this new construction spec house into a home full of life and love. Much different living in a new construction home compared to a 100 year old farmhouse but we love it just as much here.

Bjorn's Birth Story

Hello there friends!!! I have been wanting to do this post for a while but never seemed to get around to it. Easy and Delicious Orange Lemonade

Summertime is in full force over here. We have pretty much lived at the pool this year, and around any body of water that will have us. We are living it up and loving every second of it. I made this yummy lemonade and thought I'd share how I did it. It's so easy, it doesnt seem blog worthy... but I can't just keep it to myself! It has a funny little story of how it came about too...

A Temporary Guest Bedroom

Well yesterday was my birthday... It turned out to be pretty great thanks to all my wonderful friends and family. I was able to do something I truly love and that (obviously) is decorating. It's therapy for me and I love that I'm able to play in my home and switch things up often...

Simple Easter Table: Using things you already have!

Happy Easter weekend!!! It was a beautiful day today... It has been so gloomy but the sun came out today for a bit and it was almost 60 degrees, it's what I live for!! Windows open and kids playing outside... UNFORTUNATELY it's supposed to snow tomorrow!!! WHAT?! So we're doing an egg hunt inside... Still gotta keep the kiddos happy. I thought I'd share how I'm decorating my table this year for Easter because I'm having family over for lunch. Its super simple and I just used items I already had on hand to make it easy...

Baby Rowen's Nursery Tour

modern eclectic boys nursery

Here it is!!! Way late... but late is better than never! Baby Rowen Scott Nave's room is complete and he loves it! Originally when I made the inspiration board for this room, I had a baby girl in mind. I SERIOUSLY thought this baby was going to be a girl... It was just in my gut! BUT the doctors proved me wrong! So I made some tweaks to this room to make it more "boyish". You can see the original plans for the nursery HERE... Let's see what it looks like!

Super Easy (and CHEAP) Window Trim

Easy and cheap window trimHi friends! I have a super simple post for you today all about how we've been framing out our windows. When we bought this house, there was no baseboards or trim or anything. It was kind of nice because we were able to pick these things out ourselves and go with the style we wanted. I want to show you an easy and CHEAP way to update your windows and make them look larger and prettier without breaking the bank...
