Inspiration Sheet Series: Rustic, Western Inspired Kitchen

A very special couple has recently asked me to help them with their kitchen. I'm so excited about this because this kitchen has needed some serious lovin for a long time! They built their house in the 80's and the only thing's they've changed in the kitchen has been the floor, appliances and hardware on the cabinets. The counter tops, backs plash, lighting, and cabinets are all original. Now i'm all about salvaging old things, and bringing them back to life....

Adding Copper and Gold into My Kitchen- Rub n Buff Review
Hello all! I have a short little post for you today about how I added some sparkle into my kitchen. After I got my chandelier in my dining room, my kitchen looked somewhat masculine with the black light, black cabinet pulls etc. I originally thought I would spray paint everything. I currently have an obsession with all things gold and copper... It's a problem...

Fall Home Tour: The Kitchen
And my fall house tour continues with my kitchen... I'm super excited to finally be doing a house tour. As I said in the first part of the house tour, I never felt like my house was ready enough for one. I always want my house to look perfect and be exactly how I want it before I photograph it and put it on my blog. It takes me so much time to style a space because I constantly nit pick myself and what I'm doing...

Vintage Inspired Table for Two
So recently my husband found these chairs on the side of the road for me. You can read more of the story here. These chairs inspired me so much to do a shabby chic vintage type of table setting...The tall chair was already white, the one on the left (below) I already had and the one on the right he found as well but it was brown. The bench I already had from a picnic table set my dad made. I painted them all white with my chalk paint score at Aldi and put them around the table. After I got the chairs around the table I was looking and thinking I needed a vintage inspired table setting with lots of candles. I went around and gathered up all my candle sticks and placed them in the center. I zoned out to some music and this is what came out onto the table. Sparkly, eclectic, vintage. I'm kind of in love...

Fall Home Tour: The Living Room
I'm super excited to be posting this!! I've wanted to do a home tour for such a long time but never felt like my house was ready enough. I've realized you cant wait for a house to be "finished" because it never will be. I know this time next year this room will look completely different but I cant wait any longer! There's lots I want to change in here but for now I'll show you what it looks like today after adding in some fall decorations...

Ok... I know you all are thinking, this isn't Savanna's house... What's going on??? Well, short back story- I've been decorating for a while and I have my own style. I call it Savanna's style. Original I know. I love mixing different styles together to make it my own. So with that being said, I've had several people ask me to help them with different rooms. People with very different styles. Challenging for me in the sense that I have my own decorating style so stepping out of my box is somewhat difficult. But I enjoy a challenge...

Early Fall Front Porch Decor
Oh my lort. This post is so exciting for me. All my little life I've wanted a front porch with a swing in the country. It's the simple things. Also it's just a staple with an old farm house and now that I have one, I'm way too overly excited about it. This swing came from my sweet neighbor who bought a new one and sold me this one for just $30! I didn't let her see my excitement but inside I was jumping and screaming like a little girl. I kept my composure as we loaded it up but trust me. Screaming like a little girl inside...

Have you ever had a significant piece of furniture, or something built in that you just can't stop starring at? Not because it's pretty... Because you hate but you cant look away and everyday you say "I'm going to paint that/get rid of that this week!" Well I've been saying that for a year now and FINALLY I got around to painting the fireplace...

Bathroom Issues!
Okay... So I've been posting about how we're re doing our bathroom and how excited I was to finally do away with all the decor I don't want anywhere else in the house that somehow ends up in the bathroom. It had a very beachy vibe and that's not really my style. I notice the beachy decor in a lot of bathrooms actually... Is it because there is water in there and it attracts all the seashells? I don't get it but it works for some. Not me. So this whole bathroom re-do was very spur of the moment (a lot like everything I do) and I decided in the middle of the night we needed a refresh....

DIY Custom Range Hood with Storage only $20!
Holy moly I've been BAD at blogging lately... I have been so busy with life that I haven't been able to get many projects done around the house. Maybe I shouldn't make up excuses but I gotta blame something other than myself right? We started on a few projects over the weekend and I am happy to announce I will be blogging all of them! ...

DIY Shabby Chandelier

I've always wanted a chandelier in my home. They're so beautiful and make such a statement. They're also very expensive. I'm just not willing to pay the price for one so I was trying to find a way to make one. I looked out at my back porch and saw the red hanging baskets my friend gave to me last year. I had been using them as a bird feeder... It instantly hit me that I could make a chandelier out of it! I told Taylor in my usual fashion "OMG I HAVE AN IDEA!" he rolls his eyes every time I say that and sometimes the eye roll is followed by an "oh no..." I went online and purchased some craft crystals off of Amazon you can buy the strand of crystals here and the drop crystals here. I had to wait a while before they came in but once they did I got started! I had no plan on how to make this. I just decided to wing it. Here is how I made my shabby little chandelier...

Before and After: Kitchen
I've been w
anting to do a before and after post on our house for a while. I started to do it for the whole house and realized that it was going to be a very long post! So I decided to split it up by rooms. I'll go through all of the details and everything we have changed over the few months we've been in the house. We've almost lived here a year... I cant believe it! Time is going by way too fast... So with that being said, lets get into the before pictures. You've been warned....
